So I am the most chaotically organized person ever…Yes, it’s a thing. I am the kind of person who HUNGERS for routine but then it will start to get boring so I allow my world to get really chaotic for a moment, then I stress over the chaos and the cycle just starts all over.
1…Getting up early…so I have ALWAYS been an morning person. For me the quietest time of the day, even with 3 crazy dogs, is first thing in the morning. I love being awake before the world and watching it come to life. I get up at 5:00 every week day whether I am going to the gym or not.
2…Quiet time…I try to get my quiet time in during this time of the day. I love starting my day with the Lord and letting Him lead the rest of it. I have found that if I don’t get this time in then the rest of my day is honestly kind of a mess. Not to say I always have perfect days when I spend time with the Lord but it is ALWAYS worth it.
3…Gym time…I don’t go to the gym every day. I actually only go 3-4 times a week and since this is a newer routine I am having to feel it out along with my new morning routine for work. Plus I am feeling out the gym itself, trying to find the right time and day that isn’t crowed beyond belief so I can get a good sweat in.
4…Work….Granted I don’t have 100% control over this any more since I am expected somewhere now but every day at 7:45am I get in my car and head on into work for the day.
5…Dishes…We don’t have a dishwasher so everything needs to be done by hand. I go out of my way to plan my meals so I don’t have a ton of dishes on nights were I know we have stuff going on. I also try to clean as I cook. This doesn’t always happen, but I try. Dishes need to be done at night though, waking up to a clean, empty sink simply makes me happy.
6…Meal Planning…I will be speaking about this a little bit more at another time but let me tell you, it makes my life a MILLION times easier if I have all the meals we are having written out and when I go to the store I know EXACTLY what I am getting…It saves my brain.
7…BED…I am an old lady, even if I didn’t get up at 5 every morning I would still be in bed no later than 9:30 (10 on the weekends if we go out for a date night). I start shutting down around 8:30pm. I try to not have screen time while I am in bed, I read a little and then pass out. If I do have screen time I can tell the difference in my falling asleep habits so it has become a no go for me. I plug the phone in and leave it on the dresser on the other side of the room so I’m not tempted.
All the rest kind of falls into place. Laundry, food shopping…anything else…all happens on the weekends now along with any social media accounts that I still manage or film work and photography that need editing and exporting. I go week by week with the extras, it all depends on if we have our women’s bible study on Saturday or if Adam has a full weekend off or just Sunday. Because of the above stuff though, I am less stressed, I am not overwhelmed and I get things DONE. I am honestly going to give it ALL up to QUIET TIME, without that time with the Lord, my life would ALWAYS be chaos.
